Movie Review: Para Sa Hopeless Romantic

A student writer struggles to find a happy ending for her romantic story when her own real life romance falls apart.

James Reid and Nadine Lustre are irresistible and have a lovely chemistry together in this sweet romcom whose best asset is its charm, story, and love quotes. It got a  predictable love story that we already watched before but delivers a different kind of treatment with this new generation of love teams that were really loved by teens. This film showcase on how the youth nowadays show their romantic side with their love ones with the onset of current technology.

The film is an adaptation of the best selling novel of Marcelo Santos III - Para Sa Hopeless Romantic that I can assure that all the fans of the book will definitely enjoy as there's only minor modification done on the story and major enhancement added to increase the kilig factor in the film.

JaDine fans will definitely enjoy this film as well as the two has a lot of kilig moments in the film. A leading man has born in the roster of talent of Viva Films by means of James Reid and I can feel that Nadine Lustre has already made mark in this industry as the next leading lady to watch to like Sarah Geronimo. In this film the two had proven that chemistry had been developed between them making them as one of the hottest and in demand loveteam of their generation. It's also good to see JaDine portraying characters that close to reality this time compare to the first two films that they've done. Also in this film, ordinary people can relate to especially the students of Polytechnic University of the Philippines which is the setting of the film that was truly utilize all throughout that I can attest to as I am an alumnus of the same university. JulNigo on the other hand has a potential to be a loveteam to watch to which I can feel the spark between the two on and off cam. One of the scene stealer in the film that also shine is Shy Carlos that gave justice to her character as a witty bestfriend of Nadine.

As usual the theme song of JaDine film for the 3rd time is really a hit for me, the very uplifting song Hanap-Hanap and the emotional song Ikaw by Yeng Constantino that really fits to the story. The quotes about love incorporated in this film is realistic and relatable. And finally, I loved the surprise ending which is a real winner for me.

Para Sa Hopeless Romantic is very sweet and engaging film that I really enjoyed. The casting was perfect, and the two loveteams worked so well together. So if you're inlove and want to be inlove, don't miss this fairly made feel good romantic film this season.

My Verdict:  3.5/5
