Erich Gonzales, Tom Rodriguez and Lovi Poe join forces in Cineko Productions' The Significant Other - this season's most controversial film.
The Significant Other is centered on top fashion models Nicole (Gonzales) and Maxene (Poe) who are two friends who realized that they are romantically involved with the same man - plastic surgeon Edward (Rodriguez). Nicole believes she is going through a whirlwind courtship with the man of her dreams while Monique is fighting for a deep secret that benefits her and her man. Both women believe that they are man's significant other.
Directed By acclaimed director Joel Lamangan, and with story written by Enrique Ramos and Jerry Gracio, The Significant Other marks the second major collaboration of Cineko Production with Star Cinema, which will distribute the film to mainstream cinemas.
The Significant Other is consistent with the cutting edge style of Cineko Productions which first collaborated with Star Cinema in Jason Paul Laxamana's Fallback. Cineko Productions also produced The Return of Mang Kepweng which starred Vhong Navarro.
The Significant Other is Erich's first movie since her fantastic Metro Manila Film Festival 2017 entry Siargao. The movie also coincides with the Blood Sisters, which is her newest series on ABS-CBN
Tom on the other, makes a grand comeback with Star Cinema as the last Star Cinema film that he appeared in was 2015's blockbuster hit 'The Love Affair', which starred Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta and Bea Alonzo.
This is also Lovi's very first movie project with Star Cinema.
Together, Erich, Tom, and Lovi will create one of the most unforgettable love triangles in movies as they breath life to the amazing characters of Nicole, Edward and Maxene.
The Significant Other is showing in cinemas nationwide starting February 21.
